There's no better time than the present to get started on a plant-based diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Our view on the best way to eat to keep you healthy and satisfied for your entire life is to eat a plant-based diet consisting of lots of fruits, vegetables and starches, all the good carbs to keep you super satisfied!
5 Tips on succeeding on a Plant-Based Lifestyle:
1. Determine your reason
Take a moment and think about it. Do you want to do it for your health? The health of your family? Do you want to protect our planet's precious resources?
Imagine what your life will look like when you start having a plant-based lifestyle with your family. Take a few minutes and write down these reasons. Keep this writing on hand, so that you can refer back to it when things get tough.
2. Make the Decision
The beauty of making a decision to embrace a plant-based lifestyle, is that it forces you to take the necessary steps to make it happen. You will start researching and experimenting in the kitchen for healthier options and plant-based recipes once the decision has been made.
3.Always be ready – Meal planning, eating out, vacationing abroad etc
Just be sure to add time in your schedule for meal planning, grocery shopping and check out restaurants menus online to see what plant-based options they have available before you leave the house. Consider what your food options will be like when making your travel plans. Prior to staying in hotels or working with a guide, let your contacts know your dietary needs. You will be surprised how much they are willing to advise and help you navigate the waters.
4. Explore! Visit your Farmer’s market, Grocery Store in a new way
If you’re looking for a place to go, a small amount of research goes a long way—and can usually be done in just a few minutes. Challenge yourself to add something new to your cart each time you go to the grocery store and/or farmer's market.
5. Surround yourself with like-minded people who share your joy of living the plant-based life
Join groups on social media, attend local meetups, and, most importantly, make some real-life friends that share your enthusiasm. Having people in your life that share your values will remind you of why you do what you do.
